Bartlett "War of the Ghosts" Demo

This is an adapted version of the Northwest Coast story used by Bartlett (1932). It is a learning and recall demonstration, not a test.

What to do: Click Start study and read the story carefully within the 90-second time limit. When time runs out, write down everything you can remember in your own words, then click Submit recall to compare with the original.

Think about: Did you add, change, or leave out any details? Bartlett's central finding was that memory is reconstructive: we do not replay a recording but rebuild the story each time, filling in gaps with our own knowledge and cultural expectations. Look for exactly that kind of distortion in your own recall.
